Challenge #5: Wishlist

In your own space, create a list of at least three things you'd love to receive, a wishlist of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it and include a link to your wishlist if you feel comfortable doing so.

i think this prompt is about stuff people want online , but i'm a "i love material goods" kind of person , so this'll have a bit of both .

1. more house fans on dreamwidth !!! i looove talking about this show with my friends but it would be really interesting to talk about it to people with totally different viewpoints on it than me !
   i also don't love feeling like im talking into the void , but i'm trying to get better about that , haha ...
   


2. more wilson sickfics ... i feel like i've read every one posted to the internet at this point ( though i know i havent ) and yet i crave more . my greed sickens me as well , i know .
   


3. my new years resolution this year is to "connect more with my interests" , so i suppose that's a huge part of my wishes for 2026 as well ? i want to get more into fandom and fandom archaeology , i want to get more into medical stuff , i want to get more into libraries and library work , i want to get more into ice cream , i want to get more into art and literature and music and just so , so many things .
   


4. more pieces of physical media ! i , as is the case for many teenagers my age , feel "nostalgic" for things we never experienced and want to revert our technology use to that of the previous generation . this , specifically for me , extends mostly to cds and vinyls ! some albums i'm super interested in getting physical media for at the moment include forever howlong by black country, new road and what do you mean the monster?… hahaha by glasshouse red spider mite , but there are sooo many other albums i want physically .
   i also recently got the house m.d dvd box set, much to my dads confusion !
   


5. house fan merchandise off etsy ! i already bought a super cute wilson sticker n a chase sticker a few months back , but i crave for more ...
   specifically this , i think !

I'm very pleased to see a lot of people, especially younger people, getting into House M.D., whether just discovering it or revisiting it due to the sudden interest in the show again. I remember watching it while it was airing on television, and although I haven't watched the entirety of the show from beginning to end (which I should rectify soon) it was an enjoyable show. Seeing the resurgence of it over the last few years has been wild yet a pleasant surprise, sometimes you just never know what older show is going to really resonate with people to get back onto.

Have you watched the entire show? Which season is your favorite? Also, which characters and what ships, if any, do you like? What is it about the show that personally resonated with you?

I really like that resolution you have for yourself. Connecting more with what you like and are into, fandom or otherwise, is a fantastic goal to set.

And yes to physical media! As a millennial, I never really stopped collecting physical media nor have I gotten rid of anything I owned before either. Although the return of vinyl records/players was a bit surprising to me, I still mourn that once digital and streaming became more and more popular the less physical media was in demand. You could still find it if you were searching hard enough for it in places, it just wasn't readily available as it had been before (ex: walking into any store there would be sections for DVDs and CDs). Thankfully, it seems that we're seeing the gradual reverse of this as many are wanting and demanding for physical media again. When I buy something, I want it to be mine, to physically hold in my hands, I don't want to be beholden to some streaming service that can disappear at any point. So yes, continue collecting physical media! Supply and demand, let's go!

i was talking about the first part of this comment with someone earlier today , actually ; i believe house was put on either netflix and / or hulu ( i've been watching it on hulu personally , but i swore it was on netflix for a while ??? ) which caused a resurgence in people either rewatching the show or watching it for the first time . which ... included me , i suppose ! i would highly recommend watching it again / finishing at some point in the future , but maybe thats just because i'm the house girl , hehe ...

i haven't finished watching the show yet ( it has been a very slow process -- i've never really been a watching t.v shows or movies kinda person , haha ... ) but i'm currently in early s6 and i've spoiled myself for the rest of the series . i think if i had to pick a favorite season to think about , it would be season 5 ? but season 3 was also really good and season 6 has been shaping up to be really something special . as for favorite characters ... well , i make my love of wilson very obvious just about everywhere , but i also love cuddy and amber ! i love all of the characters , actually ... foreman's probably my favorite fellow though . and ! ships !!! i'm , as most people in the fandom are , very very into hilson . but i also like wilson/cuddy a lot ??? i dunno . the show built it up a bit but never paid off on it , which makes me sad because i think they have a lot of what hilson doesn't . house/cuddy/wilson is also nice , though i'm not sure how i feel about house/cuddy . and then the fellows can do whatever . i like wilson/amber ????
aka i just like wilson . and women .

and on physical media !!! i'm currently ... uh ... pretty income-less , so i don't have a ton of it . the one pro of digital media is that it's so much less expensive . but ! i'm hoping to get a job soon and invest a lot of my money into more physical pieces of media . especially since i want to ... you know ... get into more pieces of media , haha .

overall : yes !!! yes to all of this !!! and again , tysm for the comment !
